A Calgary police officer has been suspended with pay after being charged with assault.
The force says in a news release that officers responded to a call for service in May, 2025.
They say a complainant reported that an officer used excessive force during an arrest by “striking them multiple times with a closed fist.”
Police say Const. Imran Khan faces one count of assault, and his status is under review.
Khan has been with the force for six years.
He is set to appear in court in August.
