Leaders of the five Quebec political parties are meeting in Montreal for their second debate of the election campaign.
Coalition Avenir Québec Leader Christine Fréchette, Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, Liberal Leader Charles Milliard, Québec solidaire co-spokesperson Ruba Ghazal and Éric Duhaime of the Conservatives began the evening with individual opening statements.
The themes of the 90-minute debate include the cost of living, finance and infrastructure, youth, health and protecting the French language.
The first debate on Tuesday saw leaders spar over a range of topics, including the economy, Quebec sovereignty and immigration.

Fréchette also came under fire as her rivals criticized the last eight years of her party’s governance.
Fréchette sought to distance herself from her predecessor, François Legault, while saying she can bring the province much-needed stability.
Today’s debate is the second of three planned exchanges between the leaders of the five parties.
Voters go to the polls Oct. 5.
