Multiple people are dead after a two-car crash north of Edmonton.
An online post Thursday evening by Sturgeon County says the collision happened near the town of Gibbons, about 40 kilometres north of Edmonton.
The county did not say how many people died, only that the crash resulted in “multiple fatalities.”
The highway was closed overnight while Mounties investigated.
The RCMP says the scene has been cleared and traffic has resumed.
They did not provide further details, but say they expect to release more information “in the future.”
