A driver struck and injured six pedestrians at a Quebec festival early Saturday morning before fleeing the scene, according to provincial police.

The incident happened at a country music festival in Saint-Tite, Que., around 4:30 a.m.

Spokesperson Marc Tessier said the victims’ injuries vary, though provincial police did not have further information on their conditions.

He confirmed the victims were taken to hospital.

The vehicle was spotted an hour later in the Quebec City area, where the suspect, a man in his 20s, was arrested and taken in for questioning.

Police say it’s unclear whether the incident was intentional, and that an investigation is underway.
